Find out what I learned about
DG: I have several tools I use to replace the eyes in the DAM trolls, depending on what troll needs to have eyes removed/replaced. Trolls with deep necks (large Grandma, Grandpa and big kids (#806 series) are the hardest to work with as there isn’t much room to see inside or to get tools inside the neck opening to remove or to put in new eyes.
If original eyes are plastic and I am changing them to glass on wire, then I have to use my ingenuity to create a metal backing similar to what was used in the original DAM Trolls to secure new glass eyes
Janet uses the Glass Eyes on Wire in "Clear" Sizes 4mm to 16mm. She has been experimenting with painting eyes.
She wrote to me recently about using tooth picks to paint dabs of color and waiting 24 hour between each application of color. She uses play dough to hold the eyes in place while she is working on them. She has been experimenting with baking at different temperatures for varying lengths of time and using different types of sealants.
