Are you familiar with Flocking? We are at GlassEyesOnLine because we stock Safety Noses that have been Flocked. It's a material glued on the surface area to give it a Fuzzy Soft Look for your Teddy Bear, Doll, Puppet, and Monster Noses, Buttons, and Eyes. Watch this Video and Get the Step by Step Instructions Below. Step by Step Instructions: Supplies Needed: Multipurpose Spray Adhesive Flocking Material available at https://www.flockingunlimited.com/ Safety Noses available at https://www.glasseyesonline.com/noses/plastic-noses Brown Paper bag or Newspaper Step 1: Spray Adhesive on Safety Nose Suggestion: Protect hands from sticky adhesive by using Gloves Suggestion: Place Safety Noses on a Peg Board before spraying adhesive to Flock several Safety Noses at once. Step 2: Apply Flocking Material to the Safety Nose as shown in the Video Suggestion: I used the bottle included with the flocking material. I also tried dipping the nose into a disposable plastic bowl containing flocking material to coat the surface. Both worked well for me. Step 3: Place the Flocked Nose on Brown Paper or Newspaper to Dry. We've had a few customers ask us at GlassEyesOnLine if we could stock the Flock Safety Noses in the larger sizes. We currently stock Flock Oval Noses Size 8mm to 14mmFlock Triangle Noses Size 8mm to 18mmFlock Heart Noses Size 13mm to 18mmFlock Round Button Nose Size 6mmThe Plastic Safety Noses that can also be used for buttons and eyes are available in a wider range of colors and sizes 6mm to 50mm. We recently found Flocking Unlimited, an online company that sells Flock in many beautiful colors. We purchased the Black and Pink Flock online to test on the Plastic Noses (buttons, eyes). The flocking products were reasonably priced, arrived quickly and were well packaged.
Crafters are already purchasing the Plastic Heart Noses for their Valentines Day projects so we decided to test the Pink Flock on our 29mm Pink Plastic Heart Noses. Check out our What the Flock ??? Video above. We think the Flocking turned out fabulously ! DIY Flocking is an economical option for crafters that would like flocking on safety noses in those larger or smaller sizes than are available at GlassEyesOnLine.com Flocking Unlimited Video Tutorials: Learn How to Apply Flocking to Greeting Cards and a Jewelry Box In 2017 when we evacuated for Hurricane Irma; I crocheted this Sugar Skull Garland Pattern to use for a Halloween decoration. It's a free pattern designed by Brenda K. B. Anderson. I substituted the yarn on the list with what I had available at the time. Instead of crocheting the eyes, nose, and flower centers I used 24mm Black Round Button Safety Eyes 26mm Koala Noses turned upsidedown for the Skull Nose. 17mm Yellow Round Button Eyes for the center of the Large Flowers. 22mm Round Craft Discs for Connecting Rings I left the yarn tails from sewing the pieces together and it created movement when the ends of the garland swayed in the breeze on our deck. I found this pattern easy to follow and I was able to build it with short bursts of crochet in limited time periods. We visited my family that lives in the area and met up with Kelice Penney of Careful It Bites at Pike Place Market. After a couple of days in Seattle we started our Cruise to Alaska on the Carnival, Legend, as part of our 25th Anniversary Celebration. We had a wonderful time on the ship and at the Ports of Call. We did have a little side adventure when we missed the boat at one of the Ports of Call; but I'll save that story for another day. We took photographs of nature, wildlife and the creative arts we encountered during our adventures. I plan to use some of these photographs in some of my future product photos. I decided to stretch myself creatively by making a Montage of the photographs and videos we took with our cell phones. Watch the Video below to see our Montage of Videos and Photos of our time on the cruise and at:
I learned how to embed a video within a photograph. I also worked with sound and music even recording my voice explaining a bit about what was being shown in the montage. I could spend months working on this creative project; but packing and shipping orders, photographing products, responding to e-mails and all the other demands of a small creative business are waiting for me so I must give myself a deadline and release my creation with all it's imperfections. Thank you to all of our customers that sent e-mails, cards, and notes of well wishes while we took a break to celebrate our 25 years together.
